Healthrider Treadmill
Healthrider Treadmills cost about $1,000 per machine. Let’s take a look at some of the features to see if it’s worth paying that much for the machine. Hopefully you will find this review useful.
Motor.
The machine has a 1.5 continuous HP motor. It is used to power a top speed of 10 mph, and an incline of 10%.
Running deck.
Softtrack cushioning is the technology that is used to reduce impact. The surface area is about 19 by 50 inches, and can support a 300 pound runner. Belt can be replaced.
Warranty.
The manufacturer provides 10 year warranty on the motor and 1 year on parts.
Price.
As mentioned, the machine cost about $1,000. There are two models to choose from – the HealthRider Pro H500i Treadmill and the HealthRider T600i Treadmill. The HealthRider T600i Treadmill has a slightly more powerful motor, at 1.75 CHP.
There is nothing impressive about the specs that you see on a Healthrider treadmill. For the price of $1,000, most home treadmills can easily beat the 1.75 hp that is provided by the motor. For this price range, you can expect to get 2 to 2.5 hp.
The speed and incline also doesn’t stand out. Most treadmills in the same price range offers a top speed of 10 mph at 10% incline.
The running deck area looks reasonable. At 19 by 50 inches, it can support very tall runners.
However, what makes Healthrider stand out is the user programs. A lot of emphasis is placed on the training programs. For example, the machine is equipped with iFit personal training technology. You can load interactive workouts into your treadmill via Internet or CD. The training program then provides motivating music and you get instructions from a personal trainer. The instructions are received by the machine and the workout is automated.
The console displays all vital information such as pulse, distance, time, pace, laps, and calories burned. However, the pulse is measured by sensors on the handlebars. This is always a negative because you should be moving your arms while running.
All in all, you may wish to pass on the Healthrider treadmill…UNLESS you wish to try out their interactive workouts. Go to a local store and see if the programs fit your needs. If you enjoy the programs, you may wish to invest in this machine.
