Fuel FT96 Treadmill
The Fuel FT96 treadmill is a larger version of the Fuel FT94 treadmill. It has almost exactly the same specs, except that it’s more powerful, slightly larger, and have a few extra features.
The motor is slightly more powerful at 2.5 hp (FT94 is at 2.25hp). This extra power is meant to support heavier users. The FT96 can support users weighing up to 325 pounds. The FT94 can support users weighing up to 270 pounds.
A cooling fan is also installed in the FT96. This is absent in the smaller model.
Most runners can accept a running area of 20 by 55 inches. If you have a really long stride, you may prefer FT96’s 20 by 58 inches running surface. The running decks are also well cushioned to absorb the shock.
Both models offer the same shock assisted folding capability. With a single finger, you can fold or unfold this heavy exercise treadmill. Even a petite lady can fold and keep the machine.
For beginners, the FT94 may seem like a better machine, for it has 5 preset programs. But more advanced fitness enthusiasts, the FT96 will be a better choice. On top of the 5 preset programs, you can also set 2 user programs. This extra feature is important for those looking for a machine that suits their own fitness level. You can have 2 person using the same treadmill, and each person can set a custom user program.
Entertainment wise, both come with built in speakers. Both also comes with MP3 audio jacks. So you can plugin your iPod any time. However, FT96 has a built in receiver, but FT94 has none.
If you are a heavy/tall runner, or if you are a more advanced runner, choose the FT96.
